Board Installation Reception
January 30th – at Spataro Restaurant
Held in January, this event combines an evening of food, dancing, networking and camaraderie. This elegant evening provides a venue for our outgoing Board president to share remarks and thank his departing Executive Committee, and an opportunity for the incoming Board president to greet the members and introduce the new slate of SBE Board members.
Annual Crab Feed
February 16th - at St. John’s Parish Hall
This annual event, held in February, sells out very quickly and is enjoyed by all who attend. Many companies bring their employees, relatives, and staff to enjoy the good food and ample opportunities to network with industry peers.
Billiards Tournament
March 5th – at Hard Time Pool Hall (SBEPAC event)
The Billiards Tournament is an annual event held at Hard Time Billiards in Sacramento. Two person teams will face off against each other, playing with standard double elimination rules with a losers’ bracket. Proceeds go to the SRBX Political Action Committee.
Spring Golf Tournament
April 22nd – at Mather Golf Course
Typically one of the first golf events of the year, the Spring Golf Outing is played in a shotgun, scramble format. This event fills up quickly, and attendees enjoy an afternoon of golf and friendship, along with a BBQ lunch, dinner, and a short awards and recognition program.
Horseshoe Tournament
June 17th – at Granite Regional Park (SBEPAC event)
The Horseshoe Tournament is a first time event held at Granite Regional Park in Sacramento. Teams of two will compete throughout the afternoon, with a barbecue midway through. Proceeds go to the SRBX Political Action Committee.
Annual Steak Out
July 13th – at Sacramento Horseman’s Association
Don’t miss this SBE-hosted, one-of-a-kind event for a chance to BBQ your own steaks on a large bed of red-hot coals. Accompanied by a menu fit for a family picnic and ice cold beverages, this summer event is the perfect place for members and guests to dine, relax and network under the shade trees. Summer Golf Tournament
August 30th – at Rancho Murieta Golf Course
Held annually at Rancho Murieta Country Club, this is one of the only golf tournaments that affords players the opportunity to “play their own ball.” Golfers participating in this event experience one of the finest clubs in the area. The excellent staff at Rancho Murieta treats participating golfers to a wonderful lunch and dinner menu; and players look forward to the friendly competition, relaxed networking opportunities, and bragging rights.
Texas Hold’ em Tournament
October 8th – at St. John’s Parish Hall
The Texas Hold’em Tournament is an annual event where celebrity members and VIP’s deal for those attending. It is an excellent networking opportunity for company leaders and their staff.
Member Showcase Events
Quarterly – at Members Offices
Taking place on a quarterly basis, Member Showcase, gives members a chance to network with area general contractors and design firms. The event is typically hosted by a general or design firm as an open house to the industry. It’s a great way to get your company exposure and to give members an opportunity to meet your leadership.

Also available is the Safety Expo which begins March 30th. The Expo is the only statewide safety training and construction management expo servicing the needs of educating constituents in the building and construction trades by further enhancing safety training and safe work practices. Also available is the CIEF Trap Shoot event which takes place on November 9th. The five shooter, multi-round format lends a great opportunity for high-level employees to “team build”. Additionally, the event proceeds benefit the CIEF programs that fund programs like: Design/Build, Scholarship, and the ACE Mentor Program. Click here for more information.
