SRBX Donates $40k to CRC

Sacramento, CA – Last week, the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBX), a local non-profit that has served the building industry since 1901, donated $40,000 to Cosumnes River College’s Winn Center for Construction and Architecture; the future facility which will house the college’s Construction and Architecture Program.

Last year SRBX pledged to donate $50,000 for the Winn Center and put in $10,000 up front.  At last weeks board meeting, the obligation was fulfilled in its entirety during a check presentation.  SRBX Board President Tim Fry delivered the check, commenting that, “This donation is in memory of the late Carl Otto, a figurehead in the Sacramento construction industry – who was one of the leaders in trying to get the Winn Center built.”

Accepting the check on behalf of Cosumnes River College was: College President Debbie Travis, Director of College Advancement Kenneth Cooper, Architecture Professor John Ellis, and Construction Management Professor Ryan Connelly.

“The Sacramento Regional Builders’ Exchange has had a long history in encouraging High School Students, community College students and four year college students to enter the construction industry. We have been proactive in education for over twenty-five years and are happy to be able to donate the final $40,000 for the Winn Center for Construction and Architecture,” said Jim Lambert, Executive Vice-President for SRBX. “This check will go a long way, so that Cosumnes River College can further produce the leaders of the construction industry in the Sacramento region.”
